On 23 March 2017, NTU College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) held its fourth annual Career, Internship and Scholarship Fair.

This event was an opportunity for the College to connect students and alumni with employers, both in the public and private sectors, which are looking to recruit interns and graduates from diverse disciplinary backgrounds. A total of close to 50 prospective employers participated in the fair, some 600 students showed up at the 26 career talks organised in conjunction with the fair, and around 350 students submitted their resume in advance through a portal the College made available to match students’ and employers’ interests.

During the three-hour event, students and alumni and community members were invited to bring a copy of their resume and to explore the many employer booths and attend various career talks. Representatives from each organisation were on hand to discuss current job openings, answer questions and assist students who are exploring their career potential.

The College received overwhelming positive feedback from students and employers who attended the fair. Many employers who have stayed with the annual fair since it started in 2014 observed that HASS students tend to be adaptable to changes and have demonstrated the capacity to think critically about issues that matter. Some employers have already enquired way in advance about next year’s run!

HASS is continually looking for ways to connect students with a wealth of exciting career opportunities, and the HASS Fair is just the latest event to bring together the local industry with recent and soon-to-be graduates from across the degree spectrum. From the advertising, public relations, finance, law enforcement, retail and education, HASS continues to welcome a diverse group of employers into the fold.
