The European Union (EU) Centre, Singapore, working exclusively with the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS), NTU, has launched with effect from Semester 1, AY2013, a new EU Centre Book Prize.
The objective of the Book Prize is to encourage and recognise outstanding undergraduate students from the HASS who have demonstrated academic excellence in European studies-related areas. Specifically, this Book Prize seeks to promote knowledge and understanding of the European Union, its institutions, policies, and impact on Singapore and the region.
The S$300 Book Prize will be awarded every semester, over three academic years (from AY2013 to AY2015), to one HASS undergraduate student who:
- Is among the top 5 students in one of the approved European Studies-related courses. Please click on link to view entire list. Courses on the approved list are subject to change in every semester. Students will be informed in advance of any changes.
- Is interested in European Studies, specifically in the European Union, its institutions, policies, and impact on Singapore and the region. Candidates are required to submit written essays in a related topic; and
- Has passed an interview conducted by the EU Centre Award Committee organised by HASS.
Book Prize Winners
Winners will be notified via your NTU email, at the end of each semester, after the release of examination results. All Book Prize winners will be invited to the HASS Award Ceremony held in Semester 1 of every Academic Year.
EU Centre Book Prize winners may hold other award(s) concurrently.
