The project examines the social consequences of the commercialization of mobile communication in Myanmar. Research collaboration is established between Telenor and Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information to gain unique insights into how mobile services affect social and economic dimensions of a developing country. This will also provide a foundational study of mobile communication at the ethnographic level and later develop more quantitative analyses of mobile phone adoption in a developing country.
