In
a brief commentary that she contributed to “Rethinking Global Governance” (see
pp 15 – 17), published online by Friends of Europe, Dr Yeo Lay Hwee opined that
Regions are the future of global governance, and set out to elaborate on how
the European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
can be at the forefront of strengthening regional governance and building
bridges across regions. Both organisations have their reserves of experience
and resources and need to build on their connectivity strategies to forge
trans-regional alliances for global governance.
