The nature of EU-Asia relationship has changed since the EU first published its communication on “Towards a New Asia Strategy” in 1994. A Special Report on “
Changing Waters: Towards a new EU Asia Strategy” by The London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) has just been published. The Director of the EU Centre, Dr Yeo Lay Hwee contributed an article “EU Strategy towards Southeast Asia and ASEAN” to this Report. The Centre’s Associate, Dr Reuben Wong also co-authored a piece on “Stepping up EU-ASEAN Cooperation in Non-traditional Security” with Dr Scott Brown.
This Special Report was produced as part of the Dahrendorf Forum – Debating Europe, a joint initiative by the Hertie School of Governance, LSE and Stiftung Mercator. The Report will be launched in London on 28 April, and then in Brussels (10 May) and Berlin (16 June).
