Euro-Mediterranean relations and the Arab Spring
Euro-Mediterranean relations and the Arab Spring
NTU_PageContent
This background brief examines Euro-Mediterranean relations from the 1970s to the recent uprisings in the Middle East/North Africa popularly referred to as the Arab Spring, arguing that the changes taking place would have implications for the EU’s policy toward the region. It concludes with some reflections on the EU’s longer term concerns and interests, and the consequences of the Arab Spring on the EU-Mediterranean partnership.
